January 17, according to the “Daily Telegraph” report, Newcastle United
The team is considering the possibility of introducing midfielders Gallagher, Loftus-Cheek and winger Ziyech from Chelsea during the winter window this month.
However, Porter may be reluctant to lose both Gallagher and Loftus-Cheek given Chelsea’s escalating injury problems, but the Telegraph Sport understands that if
Ziyech wants to leave the team and will be allowed.
Before the Champions League round of 16 match against Dortmund next month, Chelsea, which has introduced three new foreign aids this month, Mudrek, Felix and Badiashile, must remove two non-local players from the ball.
In order to comply with UEFA’s registration rules, the team will be removed from the UEFA Champions League registration list.
Newcastle have considered signing Gallagher in the past two summer windows because he is a long-term pursuit of Magpies director of recruitment Steve Nicholson.
Newcastle have also expressed an interest in Manchester United midfielder McTominay, as the Scotland international fears he won’t get enough minutes under ten Hag.
McTominay is also widely loved by Newcastle’s coaching and signings staff and the Magpies will make an offer for him if Old Trafford allows them to do so.
The Daily Telegraph understands that McTominay is also open to a move to St James’ Park.
Newcastle coach Eddie Howe’s priority in the winter window is to bring in a midfielder, but he is also eyeing wingers and right-back positions.
Multiple sources have suggested that the players Newcastle are considering signing this month are only candidates considered in the summer.
However, Howe has also been warned that his January spend will be deducted from this summer’s transfer budget.
Since being taken over by a consortium led by the Saudi Public Investment Fund in October 2021, Newcastle have spent a total of around 205 million pounds in the two windows last year.
Another player being discussed is midfielder Ruben Neves, but it is understood Wolves have no intention of selling the player in January.
And even if Newcastle wait until the summer to sign the Portugal international, it is thought that the transfer fee will exceed their budget,
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe is awaiting a report on how serious Guimaraes’ ankle injury is.
In the last round of the 1-0 home victory over Fulham, the Brazilian was limped off.
He has been sent for scans and it is hoped it is just a sprain and not a ligament or joint injury.
