February 5th In the 21st round of Serie A in the early hours of this morning, Roma
2-0 home win against Empoli.
However, Roma captain Manuel Pellegrini was booed by the home fans when he was replaced, and Mourinho supported his favorite general after the game.
Pellegrini started the game and was replaced in stoppage time.
There was a rare booing of the captain at Roma’s Olimpico as he left the field.
However, after the game ended, when Pellegrini left the stadium, he was still supported by dozens of diehard Roma fans. He also stopped to sign autographs for these fans.
Mourinho talked about it at the press conference after the game: “Some people understand, some don’t, and some don’t understand the sacrifices they made. Pellegrini played 95 minutes in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday.
Another 94 minutes against Empoli, not easy. Manuel Pellegrini has a coach who respects him and I respect what he has done for the team. Out of 60,000 fans at home, maybe only
2. 30 or at most 50 people booing.”
