After a four-year investigation into the club’s financial affairs, the Premier League has laid charges against Manchester City, alleging that Blue Moon committed a series of financial frauds between 2009 and 2018, including concealing the true source of the club’s funds and only for players.
And former coach Roberto Mancini declared part of the salary, in violation of UEFA and the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play rules.
Premier League clubs are demanding a swift verdict and punishment against City before the end of the season.
A club official said: “If these allegations are proven, there must be an appropriate penalty and the only appropriate penalty is relegation.”
“We’re talking about 10 years of alleged abuse of power and we want the Premier League to do the right thing.”
