Martinez is 49 years old and a Spanish coach. He will leave the Belgian coach post after the 2022 World Cup.
Martinez coached the Belgian team for 6 years, with a record of 56 wins, 13 draws and 11 losses. He won the third place in the 2018 World Cup, reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup in 2021, and was eliminated from the 2022 World Cup group.
The Portuguese team stopped in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. The old coach Santos left after the World Cup, ending his 8-year coaching career with the Portuguese team.
