January 19th FA Cup third round replay, Leeds United beat the English Championship 5-2
The team Cardiff City advanced to the next round.
In the post-match press conference, Leeds United coach Marsh responded to news reports that some players in the team opposed him.
After the game, Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear hugged Marsh in front of the media, and Marsh said in an interview with the media after the game that the Leeds United team was very “unite”:
“I know it’s hard for everyone to be patient, and if we don’t get a good result, I’m going to be the center of attention.”
“I wanted to try and find a way to keep our fans and the club, everyone, confident in this team because I watch them (players) every day and I know their professionalism, I see.
To their dedication and devotion to each other.”
“There are reports that some players in the team are against me. It’s a nasty report. It’s very bad. We are united, everyone is standing together and we are doing everything we can as a team. We all have a responsibility on our shoulders,
Especially me. We all believed in ourselves and knew we were going to get better.”
“I know I’ve had some criticism, and some of it is valid, but I feel from the bottom of my heart that the team is moving in the right direction.”
Leeds United are currently 14th in the Premier League table with a game in hand but are just two points above the relegation zone.
In the next round, they will sit at home against Brentford, who have been in good form recently.
